The neutralisation reaction generates harmless gases

For maximum safety, ACX contains an indicator system that will show when the spill is completely neutralised

Once the chemical has been neutralised the powder can be disposed off as general waste

Water should be used to dilute before attempting to neutralise some concentrated acids e.g. hydrofluorosilic, phosphoric and sulphuric acids (50% dilution recommended)
